Sarah Palin to release her medical records

Sarah Palin to release her medical recordsSarah Palin - the only member of the Democratic or Republican presidential tickets who has not discussed her health or allowed her medical records to become public - indicated Wednesday that she would release the records.

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden released his records earlier this week. Barack Obama and John McCain released theirs earlier during the campaign. In all cases, the reports indicate that they are fit to serve.

Earlier this week the New York Times raised the issue of the Republican campaign’s silence on Palin’s medical history, and questioned the capacity of the Republican presidential nominee, Senator John McCain of Arizona, to finish out a full term as a 72-year-old survivor of cancer.

Palin and McCain appeared for a joint interview with Brian Williams, anchor of ‘NBC Nightly News’, where Palin - characterizing interest in her medical history as another in a line of intrusive requests by “curiosity seekers” – said: “The medical records — so be it.”

The Alaska Governor also said: “I’m healthy, I’m happy, I’ve had five kids - that’s going to be in the medical records. Never been seriously ill or hurt - you’ll see that in the medical records if they’re released.”

During the course of the interview, McCain predicted that he would overtake his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, and win on Election Day.
