IOL Broadband Signs VoIP Agreement With MTNL

IOLIndia’s first commercial Metro Ethernet Fibre Network Infrastructure Company, IOL Broadband Ltd has declared that it has signed a voice-over-internet protocol (VOIP) service providers’ agreement with state owned telephone company, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL).

The recent deal will allow the company to inter connect with millions of MTNL subscribers with local/STD/international calls at very low rates.

“The company is planning a capacity of 100 million minutes, going up to 1 billion minutes, in two years and expects huge increase in VoIP and broadband connections in the near future,” the company’s spokesperson said.

IOL also announces availability of videophones to all its broadband subscribers along with VOIP phone and teleconferencing services.

The IOC stock, on Tuesday, closed at Rs. 497.95 on NSE after making a gain of 0.85%. It also touched an intraday high of Rs. 509.00 and low of Rs. 488.00. The total volume of shares traded at the NSE was 70,091.
