M&M To Expand Two Wheeler Segment Thru Acquisitions & Mergers

The leading automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to develop its two M&M To Expand Two Wheeler Segment Thru Acquisitions & Mergerswheeler business. The company will expand the business with the help of global alliances and acquisitions with suitable companies.

The company had already acquired Kinetic Motors in last month.

The company’s president said that the company believes in technological partnership with other companies to produce more cost effective products in the two wheeler segment. The company is targeting China and South East Asia markets for low-end bikes and Europe for high-end motorcycles.

The company is planning to cooperate with Taiwan-based Sanyang Motors for technical collaboration. Sanyang Motors is also a leading investor in Kinetic Motors.

The proposed acquisition of company would form a new company in which Kinetic Motors' would be partner with 20% stake. The rest of the stakes would be kept by Mahindra & Mahindra. The technical support from this acquisition would enable M&M to develop a range of scooters, value engineered motorcycles and high-end motorcycles for the Indian and global markets.

The company had sold 8,057 units of Logan last year while for this year it sold 6001 units of Logan.
