International Conference on AIDS concluded in Mexico
AIDS has taken 25 million lives since 1981. Many teams of the medical experts and reformers are working in different parts of the world, day and night, to fight this deadly virus.
According to statistics, the number of people with HIV virus is increasing. The five day conference was organized in Mexico City with a purpose to unite the efforts of people throughout the world against this deadly virus. The 17th International AIDS conference concluded in Mexico City on Friday.
Around 25,000 people from different countries attended this five day conference. Many world renowned researchers and leaders were present at the conference.
Various experts highlighted important issues related to AIDS. Some scholars discussed the miserable condition of the people suffering from AIDS. In some countries, people suffering from this deadly disease are not even given basic human rights. In some countries these people are forced to live life of an outcaste.
President of the International Aids Society (IAS), Pedro Cahn said that the conference was a success. He added that the countries in Latin America and the Caribbean agreed to promote sex education at schools across the region as a collective policy. All the experts accepted the role of education in preventing this disease.
He added that all the dignitaries who attended the conference agreed to the fact that prevention is equally important as cure. The conference ended with the affirmation from all the experts to put in more effort against this deadly disease.
