Computer crashes may stem from inadequate power adapters

Munich  - Using the wrong kind of power adapter may cause a computer to crash during heavy usage, the German PC-Welt magazine reported recently.

Power may be severed, if the adapter does not meet the right specifications, the report added. That would cut off power to the motherboard, memory chips and graphic cards. A single power outage would be enough to erase the working memory and cause the system to crash.

The freeware program "Speedfan" can help PC users determine whether their adapter is suitable for their PC. The program can be downloaded at www. almico. com. If it's incompatible, the adapter should be replaced. (dpa)
