Musharraf rules out imposing martial law in Pakistan

Pakistan President Pervez MushrrafRawalpindi, June 30 : Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Monday ruled out the possibility of imposing martial law in the country again, saying his focus was was now on strengthening democracy in the country.

He is reported to have told the leader of Muslim League-Q, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, at his camp office here on Monday, that he may address a joint session of parliament.

Both leaders, according to The News, discussed the political and economical situation prevailing in the country, besides other important issues.

Sources said that the President also said that the parliament has right to impeach him, and he would accept its decision. He also praised the positive and constructive role played by the opposition in Parliament.

Elahi assured Musharraf that the opposition continue their support to him (Musharraf) on all issues. (ANI)
