Croatian journalists protest colleague's beating

Zagreb  - Croatian journalists Friday protested the beating of a colleague and urged authorities to find his attackers.

Dusan Miljus, 46, a reporter for the Jutarnji List daily, was injured when assailants beat him with baseball bats Monday evening in Zagreb. His attackers escaped.

About 50 journalists angered by the attack demonstrated outside the government building in Zagreb. Others protested in the Croatian cities of Osijek, Split and Rijeka.

Miljus was discharged from hospital Thursday. (dpa)
