US soldiers arrest smugglers in Iraq with Iranian missilesBaghdad  - US soldiers said Friday they had arrested four suspected weapons smugglers in Iraq.

The army said the men, believed to be Shiite Muslims, were bringing anti-tank munitions, missiles and other weapons from Iran into the province of Diyala.

One of the four is responsible for carrying out many attacks on US soldiers and members of the Iraqi security forces in the region of Husseiniya, the army said.

The US Army accuses the Shiite leadership in Tehran of arming radical Iraqi militias and of training fighters from the Mahdi Army led by radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. (dpa)
