Exercise pills for lazy people who hate workouts

It is everyone's dream to have things straightforwardly and no struggle should be done to achieve it. Just imagine if one doesn't have to work out and a single pill a day can perform it for you. There are no such pills in market yet, but scientists have struggled a lot in the past to develop one that can burn fat, repair worn-out cells and improve blood flow, according to a new study in Trends in Pharmacological Sciences.

The 'exercise pill' or the 'exercise in a bottle' drug research has been recently given a lot of attention by the international media as it IS going to be one such invention which will provide the benefits of exercise without working out.

Chief researcher Ismail Laher, professor in the pharmacology and therapeutics department at the University of British Columbia, told The Washington Post, "I want to be clear that really there is no way to replace routine exercise with an exercise pill. Exercise requires your heart rate to go up, blood to flow faster, and you cannot do that with an exercise pill".

It is obvious that exercise brings many beneficial changes in your body, but these pills are going to be next best thing for lazy people who don't like workout.

Laher compared the exercise pill to a vitamin pill. Fresh fruits and vegetables overshadow vitamin pills, but still there are people who prefer vitamin pills. The drug can be more beneficial for elderly and obese people. It can be the best gift for lazy people.

"We've created an exercise blueprint that lays the foundation for future treatments, and the end goal is to mimic the effects of exercise," he tells Quartz from Sydney. "It's long been thought that there were many signals elicited by exercise, but we were the first to create this map and we now know the complexity."
