Apple plans to have New Streaming Music Service
Apple is planning to come up with a new streaming music service sometime this year. The company might launch the service at its annual developer conference in June.
For now, it has not been unveiled as to whether or not the service will be free or paid. But it is being said that Apple plans to charge $8 per month for a subscription. Re/code reported that Apple's upcoming streaming service may offer its customers some gratis tunes of its own.
Apple will fund its streaming service might be through paid subscriptions. It is being said that the company is planning to offer a free trial period of up to 3 months. But is also being said Apple would not offer any unlimited free music tier like Spotify.
There are also chances that people may also witness a new version of iTunes Radio in which addition has been made of human DJs and of four producers from BBC Radio 1. Apple has asked Spotify to stop providing its free music streaming.
Spotify's free streaming was started thinking that it will lead users to have paid subscriptions. But such a thing did not happen, as only a fourth of its users have actually paid for the service and this is something that Apple is trying to avoid.
There are also chances that in the coming time you may see the company credited for pushing the $0.99 DRM-free MP3 file and also credited with putting a permanent price on streaming. It is expected that Apple's reach may provide some level of help.
