Your chance to ‘glam up’ iGoogle homepage

GoogleMelbourne, Apr 30 : Google will no more be the plain, ‘formal’ looking page, for it has undergone a celebrity makeover and so, you can now ‘glam up’ the iGoogle homepage with works of your favourite celebs and artists.

iGoogle lets users customise their homepage with specific widgets, RSS feeds, and themes.

From April 30 onwards, iGoogle users will be able to incorporate celebrity designs from around the world into their homepage theme.

The designs come from creative icons including Marc Ecko, Philippe Starck, Coldplay, Rolf Harris, The Beastie Boys, Dolce & Gabbana, and Jeff Koons.

The celebrity themes are designs, or "skins", that form a banner surrounding the Google search box at the top of the iGoogle page.

The banner can change at certain times during the day to display other designs within the theme.

"This is a way to give iGoogle users more fun options to personalise their Google experience," News. com. au quoted Julian Sonego, consumer marketing manager for Google Australia, as saying.

"By teaming up with great Australian artists and celebrities, we're providing users with some great new homepage designs, and introducing the artists to a new format to display their art and express themselves. It’s like an online art gallery with millions of daily visitors,’ Sonego said. (ANI)
