Modi's Patna visit to meet blast victims 'purely political': Rashid Alvi
New Delhi, Nov 2 : Congress Party leader Rashid Alvi on Saturday said that Bharatiya Janata Party's ( BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's visit to Patna to meet the victims of the serial blasts is purely political.
He also asked Modi why he did not meet the victims of Muzaffarnagar where more than 60 people died in communal clashes last month.
"Did Narendra Modi really go there to sympathize with the victims of Patna blasts? Why didn't he go to Muzaffarnagar? He is not even talking about Muzaffarnagar . This is purely politics and nothing else. People of this country are aware that Modi's Patna visit is political. And this kind of politics is very unfortunate," he said.
Modi, who arrived in Patna last night, met the families of the six people who were killed in serial blasts ahead of his massive 'Hunkar' rally on October 27.
Modi also spoke to the wife of Patna blast victim Munna Srivastav over phone, as he was unable to visit the family in Gopalganj due to bad weather conditions.
Four people have been arrested in the case so far, while several others have been detained. (ANI)
