Erdogan arrives in Syria for talks over Golan Heights
Damascus - Turkish Prime Minster Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Damascus on Saturday to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and discuss a message from Israel over the Golan Heights, media reports and sources said.
Erdogan's visit to Damascus included a message from Israel about possible negotiations over the Syrian occupied Golan Heights, al- Jazeera news channel reported.
Syrian sources told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that Erdogan would hold a closed meeting with al-Assad and would later meet with other Syrian officials.
Sources said Erdogan planned to attend a Syrian-Turkish economic forum and discuss bilateral economic relations. (dpa)
