MapmyIndia Projects Rs 100 Crore Revenue In 2012-13
Digital navigation device manufacturer MapmyIndia is anticipating hitting Rs 100-crore income mark in the existing financial year, and proposes to swell business in the South Asian and African nations.
MapmyIndia Managing Director Mr. Rakesh Verma stated, “We expect to cross Rs 100 crore revenues by the end of this financial year.”
MapmyIndia projects to witness noteworthy advancement in sales figures of its Android-based navigation tools 'Car Pads' that are being marketed as bundled goods with cars, location tracking based services and sale of map navigation apps.
"We have partnered with almost all car makers for selling Car Pads in most of the vehicles priced above Rs 5 lakh. Our product is already selling in IPL version of Volkswagen. Some car companies have their own device but using our maps and application in their device," Mr. Verma said.
Mr. Verma also stated that the company has also inked a deal with Maruti Suzuki for bunching up car pads in some vehicles.
"Over the period of next 3 to 5 years, we are confident that around 30 to 40 per cent cars in India above Rs 5 lakh will be selling our products," Verma said.
He added that it is working with a leading telecommunication operator in the nation to offer up location-based services, which will inform regarding promotional offers around the location of cellular phone user and other such apps.
The technology firm will swell its biz overseas by 2013, beginning from the African and South Asian nations.
"We plan to make formal announcement of our business launch in a African and South Asian country next year," Verma said.
