OnLive releases gaming app for tablets

US-based cloud gaming service provider, OnLive has released a new gaming app allowing users of tablets like Apple's iPad, Samsung's Galaxy Tab and Amazon's Kindle Fire to play advanced games on their tablets.

The new app is expected to offer the same games that are available on latest consoles and gaming PC. The apps will offer popular titles such as "Batman: Arkham City" and "Assassin's Creed: Revelations". Mobile users will be able to play games over Wi-Fi and over high-speed 4G cellular data connections.

OnLive founder and CEO Steve Perlman described the new app as a major milestone. "Gaming and mobile devices will never be the same." The new app has been customized for and tested on the iPad, the Kindle Fire and several Android tablets, he added.

The company has also said that it will soon release apps for the iPhone and Android smartphones soon. The company has also added touch-screen controls to25 games already on the service. The touch-screen controls have been added to games including "Lego Harry Potter: Year 1-4" and "Virtua Tennis 2009." The company also said that it is planning to add touch-screen controls to more games in the future.
