Mercedes on a roll!
The German luxury car major, Mercedes Benz has recently said that it has achieved the highest sales in the history of the company over the past one month in the domestic circuit.
According to the figures released by the company sold close to 573 units in August, an over two-fold jump compared to the year-ago period. It is to be mentioned here that the company sold around 270 units in the same month last year.
Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Wilfried Aulbur said that the aggressive approach of the company in this year was targeted at all segments of its consumers and hence the response is showed in the unit sales.
It may be noted here that the company sells C-Class, E-Class and S-Class sedans in the country, besides its M-Class and GL sports utility vehicles. There is a very close fight going on for the top spot between BMW and Mercedes and hence, a lot more action is expected in the times to come.
Mercedes Benz even overtook BMW in this year and gained the coveted market leader position in luxury car market, a crown which was taken by BMW at the end of 2009.
