M&M may bring Ssangyong SUVs Rexton and Korando to India  It has been just few days since M&M has been announced as the preferred bidder for Ssangyong Motors but the company has said it has plans to introduce Ssangyong's flagship models to India as CKD units.

It is to be mentioned here that the entry of these models will not only mark the entry of M&M into the luxury SUV segment but these products will also tall in front of products matching the likes of Toyota Fortuner, GM Captiva, Ford Endeavour, Nissan X-Trail, Honda CR-V and the yet to be launched Skoda Yeti and Renault Koleos.

However, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief of Operations, M&M said that while these two products were selling in the range of Rs. 15-20 lakhs but the Indian price of these models will largely depend on the level of localisation in these models. However, it has been learned that Mahindra may have to deal with the labour issues at Ssangyong as the workers aren't been in good rapport with the company's management.

It may be noted here that the Ssangyong Motor Labour Union public relations official Mr. Lee Kyu-baek has stated that the bidder must not mess with the workers and the union is framing a proposal as well as preparing for negotiations.
