HSBC reports profits of 11 billion dollars
The largest bank of UK, HSBC has seen a record profit of 11 billion dollars in the first six months of the year 2010; the recorded profit is more than double of its profits for the same time period in last year. The bank has said it has seen profits in every region in their operation except in North America, where it saw a loss of 80 million dollars.
The bank has recorded total profits of 2.1 billion dollars only in UK, which is a rise of 26%.
Other leading banks of UK including Barclays, RBS and Lloyds are going to publish their finance reports later in this week.
After this improved profit reports the bank has said the amount of fund set to cover the bad loans fell down to 7.5 billion dollars, which is the lowest since 2008 when the economic crisis started. This is the only bank who survived in the financial crisis period without any government help or bail-out.
Meanwhile the UK Chancellor Mr. George Osborne has called the banks to lend more to the businesses for keeping the economic recovery in the track.
