Even as the monsoon has started to settle in the Indian market, it has not able to hamper the sentiments of the Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts. In fact, the company has recently reported the highest sales in its history in the Indian market.

The company has sold close to 521 units which is a growth of 80% over corresponding period previous year (288 units in July 2009), which is the highest in the 15-year long history of the company in the Indian market.

As the company filed the record numbers for the E-Class with 212 units coupled with the high SUV sales (SUVs GL and M-Class sold 62 units in July 2010, almost half of the annual numbers of SUVs sold in 2009), it is believed that the company has now started to consolidate on its top position in the luxury car segment in the Indian market.

Dr. Wilfried Aulbur (Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India) said that with the strong sales in the SUV and E-Class segment, the company has been able to clock the highest unit sales in its history in the Indian market.
