Maruti fixing Oil leakage in Altos
The leading passenger carmaker in the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki has recently said that it will be fixing an oil leakage problem in the engines of 6,000 Altos produced in April that causes starting problems in the small car.
It may be noted here that the announcement comes almost a year after the company recalled close to 1 lakh A-stars in the Indian market due to faulty fuel pumps.
While the company has already asked close to 800 sales network centres and nearly 2,740 service workshops to check and repair the affected Altos, but spokesman played down the episode labelling it as just a normal problem which can be easily fixed at a workshop and declined that it is a recall by the company.
The company is not exactly sure that how many vehicles could be suffering from this issue but it said that it sold close to 64,500 Altos between April and June.
Exports are also includes in its total sales as the market leader also ships Alto to Nepal and Sri Lanka. Experts are of view that the problems are coming because of the F-Series engine.
