BHEL's Q1 Net Profit Surges 41.84%
State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has recorded an increase of 41.84% in its net profit, which stood at Rs 667.66 crore on account of increased net sales during the three month period.
The company had a net profit of Rs 470.69 crore during the same period of 2009-10.
BHEL's income from operation was Rs 6,761.23 crore as against Rs 5,799.59 crore during the same period last year.
The company's net sales increased by 15.79% to Rs 6,479.69 crore as against Rs 5,595.65 crore during the corresponding period of the previous year.
The overall expenditure of the company for the first quarter also surged to Rs 5,762.91 crore as against Rs 5,175.56 crore from the corresponding period last year.
Income from the company's other business actions showed a drop of 28.02%.
As on end of June 2010, the company's order book value stood at Rs 148,000 crore, which is 4.50 times its net sales of Rs 32,880.30 crore for the year ended March 2010, giving strong revenue visibility. (With Inputs from Agencies)
