US to issue order for new oil drilling ban in the Gulf
The Interior Secretary of US Ken Salazar has said that he is looking forward to issue order for a new temporary prohibition on deepwater oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. This statement came after a federal court of US lifted the ban of six months of drilling issued by the US president Mr. Barack Obama.
According to Mr. Salazar, the suspension of the drilling process is the best decision for this time.
The White House has already said that it would challenge the decision of the federal judge. The judge had blocked that ban saying that this much lengthy ban was invalid and it could have a great impact on the local business.
The Interior Secretary has said in a statement that he would issue a new order over the drilling ban in the upcoming days which would define clearly that the drilling ban is needed for the time being.
It has produced a mixed response from the people of US. Some of them believe that the ban is necessary but others say the ban will affect the economy and local business hugely as various people are dependant on these oil firms.
