At a Google organised event, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson pledged that the city would have a throughout Wi-Fi coverage before 2012 Olympics.

He basically wants to take the access to every lamppost and each bus stop and convert it into a wireless broadband hotspot. This measure aims at offering connectivity all the time without wasting time.
