For the year ended March 31, 2010, Tata Tea recorded a profit after tax (PAT) worth Rs 391.47 crore as against Rs 159.06 crore for the same period of 2009.

The company's net profit witnessed an increase of 146.11% during the year.

Total income of the company came up to Rs 1,836.84 crore for the year ended March 2010 as compared to Rs 1,524.64 crore for the year ended March 2009.

The company's board of directors announced a dividend of Rs 20 a share.

The directors have also sanctioned a sub-division of the company's equity shares from Rs 10 to Re 1 a share.

The company's consolidated net profit for the financial year ended March 2010 was significantly lower at Rs 390.30 crore.

Total operating income of Tata Tea for the year remained up by 19% to Rs 5,821 crore on the back of strong branded performance. (With Inputs from Agencies)
