Vodafone to cut down ‘the fair use data usage policy’

Vodafone to cut down ‘the fair use data usage policy’The policy of 'fair use data' that permitted the users to go beyond their stated monthly quota without incurring any additional charge will be discontinued for the UK Vodafone customers from June 1st, Vodafone has stated.

It was posted on the company's customer message board that from the 1st of June, as part of a new "out of bundle" charge, users will be able to protect their network from data abuse. At the same time users can take charge of their expenses and keep a tab on their data usage by means of a real time notification system.

This move has led the users vent their anger on company blogs and they also hinted on migrating their plans to other networks.

To this Vodafone commented by stating that the existing Pay Monthly Terms and Conditions lets a user charge for any usage beyond the Fair Usage limit. This charge will be up to £5 for every 500MB, after the first 500MB and those without a monthly bundle will pay 50p for every 10MB after their first 25MB.
