Bajaj expects rise in exports, sales
Bajaj Auto expects the year 2010 to be better in terms of sales. The company expects to see rise in sales both on the domestic side as well as in the export front.
As per the announcement made by Bajaj on Thursday, it plans to sell 2.9 million units during FY 2010. Out of this nine lakh will be done on the export side.
It expects that the growth trajectory will be maintained during the next year too. As per its plans, Bajaj has set a target of selling 4 million vehicles next year. This means a 40 per cent rise over the target that it has set for current year.
For FY 2011, the export target is 1 million vehicles. As for the motorcycles, the target is 3.6 million and commercial vehicles 4 lakh vehicles, the company said in its press release.
Looking at the kind of competition that two wheel-maker has faced, such targets are good. Most importantly, it is going ahead with its brand-centric strategy where the sales will come from its key brands like Discover, Pulsar and RE Brands.
