FAA revises the US Airline Travel projections

FAA revises the US Airline Travel projectionsAmong the many backlashes of the economic turmoil in the US Economy, a slowdown in the country airline passenger is one. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sighted that the total number of airline travelers which was projected to touch the one billion mark in 2021, will now reach the figure only by 2023.

The agency pointed out that the major fall in the operations in the airline industry in 2009, is the main reason behind this revision in the projected figures.

As per Nan Shellabarger, the director of aviation policy and plans at the FAA, last year, the take-offs and landings in US fell by a significant 10.4%. This is the not the first time that the FAA has pushed the projected date for one billion passenger mark. In fact, it's third consecutive year when FAA is doing so.

As per the International Air Transport Association's statement issued last month, the fall in the global airline business in the last three years will take at least another three years to come back on track.
