The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has informed that the British postal workers are going to get a hike of 6.9% in payment. The postal workers will also receive an amount of 2,500 pounds.

Apart from that, there will be a weekly supplement for the postal workers. This has been decided after the deal settlement between state-owned Royal Mail. There was a dispute on the issue over a long period of time. But at last it seems to be all ok for the postal workers in UK. In the deal there are also several provisions for the worker's job security as well as shorter working hours.

Now this deal has to be approved by the members of the workers union. Chief Executive Officer of Royal Mail, Adam Crozier has expressed that the deal will be a positive move for Royal's business and it will be a step forward towards modernization.

However, there has been a huge dispute over the payments, jobs and modernizations between the Royal Mail and the union workers over a long period of time. Several round of talks has took place with various unions like the umbrella union, the TUC, have taken place.
