IBM outperforms other giants in hardware Sector

The hardware business of IBM might be declining for the last 10 years if the percentage of overall revenue is considered, but the company is still upbeat with some latest innovations, better systems at decent costs of computing and also on the market share front.

The major reasons to keep them upbeat are the $4 billion overhaul of the x86 lines and power 7 lines. These 2 products’ success is so huge that no one can stop them from being a market leader.

In the last 5 years, IBM has invested 800 million dollars on their x86 technology and in last 3 years Power 7 line has seen investments worth 3.2 billion dollars. The company has sidelined HP, Oracle-Sun, Cisco and Dell like giants in this field and has emerged as a winner as far these products are concerned.

IBM is now focusing on the new technology in hardware markets only says senior vice president Rod Adkins. All the competitors are not very able to match IBM up on this front and IBM will at least for some time enjoy this supremacy.
