Public is losing confidence in Science

Public is losing confidence in ScienceUS scientific body had admitted at the weekend that Science has lost public poise after the recent attack on climate research. As per the statement of President of NAS at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in San Diego, American Population has lost faith in science.

According to Ralph Cicerone, president of the National Academy of Sciences, public opinion surveys in the US has shown that the deterioration in the public attitude to climate science has spread over to other areas of science.

Other research leaders also believed that scientists have got to work to regain public trust and this can be achieved being clearer about their findings. Science is needed to be more transparent and it should provide more access to the research data.

Jerry North, a senior climate change scientist at Texas A&M University, agreed that that vilifying a scientist has become popular amusement in the US. This shows the trailing prestige standard of scientist as well as science. Speakers at the AAAS conference also unanimously agreed to this fact that climate change report has taken science to suspect.
