Mamata accuses UPA Government of tapping her phones
New Delhi, Mar 10: Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee
today charged the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA)
Government with tapping her phones.
However, Union Communications Minister A.Raja dismissed the charge when asked by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee.
Banerjee raised the issue during Question hour in the Lok Sabha,
claiming that she was "unable to talk a single line" over the phone.
“My land phones and mobile phones are being tapped. We cannot talk a single line on the phone," she said.
Chatterjee asked Banerjee to file a complaint with his office.
"I will compel the Government to inquire into the matter," he said.
Banerjee said she was using the phone given to her by Parliament and
was ready to lay the phone on the table of the house if she was unable
to use it without being tapped. (ANI)
