New Zealand beats India by 9 runs in a warm up match

Twenty 20New Zealand has defeated India by 9 runs in a warm up match at Lords before ICC T20 World Cup and has kept the record of being unbeatable in the T20 matches against Indian team.

In this exciting match, Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to field first against New Zealand.

New Zealand got to a worst start as lost both openers, McCullum (31) and Jesse Ryder (2) in the early overs of their inning. Both were dismissed by Ishant Sharma.

New Zealand finished their inning at 170/7 in 20 overs with Ross Taylor top scorer with 41 runs while Scott Styris and James Franklin contributed 29 and 27 runs respectively in quick time.

Among the Indian bowlers Ishant Sharma took four wickets in his 4 overs and Harbhajan Singh allowed just 25 runs in his four overs and also took one important wicket of Taylor.

Chasing a target of 171, India got to a flying start and the opening pair of Gautam Gambhir (14) and Rohit Sharma (36) added 42 runs inside 5 overs.

After the departure of both the openers, Suresh Raina (45) and Ravindra Jadeja (41 not out) took Indian inning closer to the target but Indian team eventually collapsed at a total of 161/6 in their 20 overs inning.

Danniel Vettori took three wickets for 24 runs in his three overs.
