McDonald’s to open 180-190 restaurants with capex of Rs 570 crore

mcdonaldsGlobal fast-food chain McDonald's India has revealed its plans to open 180-190 company-owned restaurants by 2015, with an investment worth Rs 570 crore.

All the proposed restaurants are expected to come up in the cities where the company already has outlets. Currently, McDonald's has 157 restaurants in 30 cities.

A company official, who did not want to be identified, informed that the company would fund the proposed investment through a mix of internal accruals and debts.

Further he stated that, the company intends to open 30 to 40 restaurants by this year, out of which it will open 7 new restaurants in Bangalore.

McDonald's India presently employs over 5,000 people and as the proposed new restaurants are opened up, the total headcount should go past the 12,000-mark. The firm generally employs 40 people in a restaurant.
