Tata Housing launches ‘Shubh Griha’ – a low-cost housing initiative
The ‘Shubh Griha’ project – that’s the name of the new, low-cost housing initiative launched on Wednesday by the Tata Sons’ subsidiary, Tata Housing Development Company!
The proposed value homes to be provided by the company cost between Rs 3.9 lakh and Rs 6.7 lakh. In order to make the finance option available to the prospective buyers, the company has already established ties with SBI and HDFC.
The first-of-its-kind pan-American brand will initiate the project by offering residential properties in the Boisar suburb of Mumbai; before moving to tier I and tier II cities. The projected houses, to be a blend of buildings and open spaces, will be available in sizes such as - small one room kitchen, large one room kitchen and 1BHK; and will be constructed as per the directions of the IGBC - Indian Green Building Council.
Elaborating on the Tata Housing ideology underlying the initiative, the company’s Managing Director and CEO Brotin Banerjee said: “‘Shubh Griha’ is in line with the group’s philosophy of contributing and having a positive involvement with the society at large.”
Banerjee said the migrant population-specific project in Mumbai suburb indicates the company’s responsiveness to “the need of providing this segment with their own home along with a community life; we believe in empowering them and giving them the pride of owing a house in a city like Mumbai.”
