Madrid - Villarreal and Spain winger Santi Cazorla will be out for the rest of the season after breaking his right leg in Saturday's 3-0 defeat away to Almeria.

Cazorla, 24, suffered the injury in the 64th minute and was immediately stretchered off.

He has become a key man for Villarreal in recent seasons, thanks to his hard work, his crosses from the right and his important goals.

Cazorla was part of the Spain team that elegantly won the 2008 European Championship finals. He will now miss out on playing for his country at the Confederations Cup tournament to be held in South America in June. (dpa)
