Waghelas file plea for summon to Asaram
They want him cross-examined in the case of kids'mysterious death
The fathers of Dipesh and Abhishek Waghela, two students at the Asaram ashram run gurukul, who had died under mysterious circumstances in July last year, have filed an application before the justice DK Trivedi Commission formed to probe the deaths, to summon Asaram Bapu in connection with the case.
The Waghelas said that it was necessary to ascertain certain true facts, 'more particularly the facts regarding the activities of Ashram and Gurukul' for which Asaram Bapu needed to be summoned. According to the application filed through lawyer SH Iyer, Prafulbhai Waghela and Shantibhai Waghela had filed affidavits before the commission in which they asked the commission to furnish certain documents as well as have stated that the officials of the Gurukul had made them walk around the Banyan tree at midnight.
The applicants further stated that the gurukul officials were hesitant to lodge a police complaint with regard to the death of the two children without 'necessary instructions' from Asharam Bapu. They also cited mentioning the names of the gurukul officials in the affidavit including Uday Sanghani, Ketanbhai, Pankajbhai and Vikasbhai, who allegedly had told them that under telephonic instructions from Asaram Bapu they 'reversed the clothes of the children, picked up seven stones from the crossroad and start boiling them in a hot water pan etc.' The matter will come up for hearing before the commission on March 9.
