One out of every two Americans favours Michelle Obama: poll
Washington, Feb. 24: A new survey has revealed that US First Lady Michelle Obama holds overwhelmingly positive views among Americans with 49 percent considering her favorable and just five percent viewing her unfavorably.
The latest CBS News/New York Times poll found out that one out of every two American favours Michelle, while 44 percent are undecided or don't know enough about the first lady to hold an opinion, the CBS news reports.
Michelle Obama's has generated the highest favorable rating among her predecessors at such an early stage of her husband's presidency.
Laura Bush's favorable rating at this stage in the White House was thirty percent, while Hillary Clinton scored 44 percent. Barbara Bush's rating was 34 percent and Nancy Reagan's was 28 percent.
As far as disapproval ratings are concerned, Hilary Clinton and Nancy Reagan scored double-digit percentage, with 16 percent and
10 percent respectively. Disapproval ratings for Laura and Barbara Bush were just three percent.
The telephonic poll was conducted among a random sample of 1,112 adults nationwide.
Phone numbers were dialed from RDD samples of both standard land-lines and cell phones. The error due to sampling for results based on the entire sample could be plus or minus three percentage points. (ANI)
