OPEC oil price climbs above 42 dollars

OPEC crude price gains 6.75 dollars last week Vienna - The price for oil produced by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) climbed to 42.53 dollars Monday, OPEC announced Tuesday.

One barrel (159 litres) of OPEC-produced crude gained 1.62 dollars, from 40.91 dollars at the end of last week.

The Vienna-based oil cartel calculates an average price of 12 brands produced by its members. (dpa)
