Shyamalan, Hilton, Myers win ‘worst’ Oscar parody award nominations

Shyamalan, Hilton, Myers win ‘worst’ Oscar parody award nominationsLondon, January 22 : M. Night Shyamalan, Paris Hilton and Mike Myers have emerged as the front-runner for Hollywood''''s least coveted awards show - the Razzies.

The Golden Raspberry Awards, a parody of the Academy Awards, were created in 1980 to dishonour "the worst that Hollywood has to offer each year", and winners are announced at a ceremony on February 21, a day before the Oscars.

And this year, Myers's `The Love Guru' has bagged nominations for worst picture, director, screenplay and actor categories.

John Wilson, the Razzies creator, said that the comedy did "everything but make the audience laugh".

"Many people suggested his own search for inner truth led him to make this movie but somewhere along the line he forgot it was supposed to be a comedy," the Telegraph quoted Wilson as telling Agence France Presse.

The film was also being rivalled by Shyamalan''''s `The Happening' and Paris Hilton''''s `The Hottie and the Nottie' for the worst picture trophy.

The millionaire heiress further picked three nominations - for worst actress and worst screen couple, and for worst supporting actress for a cameo in Repo! The Genetic Opera. (ANI)
