SEBI Institute To Groom Investors
Coimbatore: SEBI is out to establish a training institute on the outskirts of Mumbai to educate and groom investors and other stakeholders on capital market, says a top official.
Interacting with the members of various associations here last night, SEBI Chairman, M Damodaran articulated that the planned Institute would have six different schools with various topics and train and educate investors on market. He said, “This institute will be the first of its kind in the world, run by a regulator,”
Damodaran told that the institute would be set up as a 'model school’ that would have different programmes, including a Phd on Capital Market and on regulators.
According to the Chairman, 60 per cent of the facultly would be drawn from India, and SEBI has tied up with some experts from the US and the United Kingdom, by which the investors would be moulded 'to work in a healthy market.'
Construction activities for the institute would soon commence.
He said, SEBI was also planning to hold seminars to update journalists, particularly desk-persons of financial newspapers on the happening in the capital markets.
