London, December 25: Fans of the music group `Coldplay' can download one of their songs free of cost this Christmas.

The band have made an exclusive remix of `Viva La Vida' available on their official website.

The song will remain available for downloads on the site until the ''Twelfth Night'' on January 5.

It is the title song to their album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, which has sold nearly two million copies in the US alone.

According to the Telegraph, a short message from the group reads: "Happy Christmas Folks."

Also available on the group's website is a special video of ''Jingle Bells'', performed with Simon Pegg at London''s O2 arena last week.

The remix of `Viva La Vida' was nominated this month for seven Grammys, including album of the year and record of the year for the title track.

It was downloaded 246,000 times in the first week of its release in June, and reached the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 singles after a surge in downloads.

However, the song has been surrounded by controversy ever since rock guitarist Joe Satriani filed a copyright infringement lawsuit this month in federal court in Los Angeles.

Satriani claimed that ''Viva La Vida'' incorporated "substantial original portions" of his 2004 instrumental ''If I Could Fly''.

Coldplay, however, insisted that any similarity was "entirely coincidental". (ANI)
