Nissan Leaf - the electric car to cost £10,000 more

Nissan Leaf - the electric car to cost £10,000 moreNissan Leaf is the world's first mass-market electric car and currently claimed to cost nearly £10,000 more than its equivalent petrol and diesel variants.

This car is set to cost a whooping £28,350 which is more than any of its nearly same ranged car. For example Ford Focus cost less than £19,000, Toyota's Prius electric-petrol hybrid, costs £19,500-22,500. This when compared to other is supposedly dearer, says the industry watchers.

In lieu of this President of the AA, Edmund King states that the Nissan Leaf will change the odd image of electric cars which generally is daunted by safety features and messy recharging points. The leaf on the other hand breaks the trend of normal looking cars which may look expensive but serves as a value for money product, states the VP.

The VP further added that Leaf would costs close to 0.3p per mile depending on electricity tariff which means that if one drives 10,000 miles he can easily save around £1,500 a year. This indirectly points that one can have their money back on premium, a value for money car, according to the company official.

This concept if appreciated and understood by people around can surely generate sales for the company.
