Nintendo to launch redesigned Wii with Mario Bundle
Gaming major, Nintendo is set to launch its redesigned Wii gaming console with an impressive Mario Bundle in the US market on 23 October.
The gamers will enjoy a mix of Super Mario Galaxy and New Super Mario Bros hits and will also be able to explore 3D worlds as well as 2D style levels. The new 3D integration will increase the dept of the game and the users can also play using the 3DS’ built-in gyro sensor.
“Super Mario 3D Land reinvents everything fans love about Mario gaming with the first platforming environment in true 3D, presenting a 3D Mario game that plays like a 2D Mario game,” says Nintendo’s junior product manager Roger Langford.
The game will also come with StreetPass functionality and the company will also offer the popular Tanooki racoon suit made famous in Nintendo’s classic Super Mario Bros 3 with the 3D Land version.
Meanwhile, Nintendo has said that it will start removing GameCube backwards compatibility from its new Wii console. The company said that its new “reconfigured” Wii will not support either GameCube software or accessories. The new blue Wii console will come in a bundle with the Mario and Sonic 2012 Olympics game.
The company has also changed the box-art showing console in a horizontal position instead of it’s vertical stance on all other boxes. The company has not revealed more details but it appears that the box art is being removed from the new bundle.
The company has not announced the pricing details for the bundle, this indicates that Nintendo might be planning to reduce the price for the Wii ahead of the holiday shopping season this year.
