NDTV Group reports net profit of Rs. 2 crore in FY 2013Indian broadcasting giant, NDTV Group has recorded a net profit of Rs. 2 crore during the financial year 2012-2013 after reporting losses in the previous two financial years.

The group had recorded a net loss of Rs. 19.15 crore during the financial year 2012 and a net loss of Rs 98.6 crore during the financial year 2011. The company said that its revival was mainly due to a number of steps aimed at cost-cutting and operational efficiency. The company increased its focus on online ad sales during the year that improved its revenues and the Web business also showed signs of improvements.

NDTV Group Executive Director and Chief Executive Vikram Chandra said, "Over the past one year, we have been on an aggressive drive to improve operational efficiency. The benefits from digitization have also helped us report better numbers."

He also said that the group is looking to complete a re-launch of business channel NDTV Profit. He added that the group is looking to turn the channel profitable and will add a lot of exciting properties and will be re-launching the channel soon. The company is aiming to complete the revamp of the channel in the coming two months.
