MV Agusta unveils cutting-edge Cortina Edizione Limitata e-bike

The foray of automotive and motorcycle brands into electric bicycles (e-bikes) underscores the growing significance of e-bikes in the realm of personal transportation. Among the renowned names making strides in this arena, Italian motorcycle brand MV Agusta has announced the launch of the Cortina Edizione Limitata within its e-bike subsidiary, called E-MV Agusta.

Unlike its performance-centric peers, the Cortina Edizione Limitata e-bike sets itself apart by focusing on lightweight commuting. This new model seamlessly blends artistic design with straightforward practicality, diverging from the Italian brand’s usual performance-oriented e-bike offerings.

Constructed from a blend of aluminum and carbon fiber, the robust frame of the Cortina Edizione Limitata e-bike stands out with its unique design, fit to accommodate riders of various sizes and featuring cargo mounts for urban convenience. The aluminum tubing contributes to the e-bike’s slim, elegant frame; while its carbon fiber rigid front fork offers precise handling and a lightweight feel.

The e-bike's lightweight appeal is further enhanced by the use of E-MV Agusta’s Mahle X35 e-motor. This rear hub motor is not only compact in size but also offers a natural pedal feel, thanks to its capability of delivering 250 watts of power and 40 newton-meters (Nm) of torque. For power, the motor relies on a 250-watt-hour (Wh) battery pack, which promises an approx. range of 75 km (roughly 46 miles) on a single charge.

The Cortina Edizione Limitata is impressively lightweight, weighing just 15.3 kilograms, thanks to the choice of lightweight materials and a compact powertrain. Complementing this is the inclusion of E-MV Agusta's Shimano 10-speed drivetrain and Magura MT4 disc brakes.

It is worth-noting here that the Cortina Edizione Limitata is a limited-edition e-bike that has been designed and developed in partnership with the city of Cortina. Indeed, it holds the refined aesthetic typical of the famed Italian mountain destination, emphasized by the badge on the frame and the quality of details that make the difference. The Italian brand claims that it creates innovative and high-quality mobility solutions, while holding its rich legacy.

Other notable features of the e-bike include 700x40c Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H tires, which promise excellent traction across various terrains and weather conditions. Additionally, the Cortina features components from esteemed manufacturers, such as Ritchey for its leather grips and saddle.

When it comes to pricing, the Cortina Edizione Limitata loaded with the aforementioned remarkable premium features is available for €3,800 (approx. $4,100).
