Musharraf has no role to play in poll results, says spokesman

Rashid QureshiIslamabad, Feb. 28 : The demand by victorious politicians for President Pervez Musharraf's exit, has been met with a terse response by his spokesman, Major General (retired) Rashid Qureshi, who said Musharraf had no role to play except clearing the notifications issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

According to The News, under the rules, the president can’t summon the new National Assembly unless the Election Commission of Pakistan notifies the poll results. After that, the commission would require at least three days to select women for special seats from the lists provided by the political parties. (ANI)
