Moscow  - Russia - which has a military cooperation agreement with Syria - Monday joined those countries protesting over a reported US special forces' raid inside Syria from Iraq.

No sovereign state should see its territory subjected to attack under the mantle of "the war against terrorism", said Foreign Ministry spokesman Andri Nesterenko.

He added that Moscow viewed the reports with "great concern". Such unilateral acts could only increase tension in the region. (dpa)
