Money dispute may have led to murder in Mithakali
Narendra Parmar had a pistol with him when he was shot dead
A Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) contractor on Tuesday night was shot dead by unidentified criminals near his office in Mithakali area. The victim, Narendra Jitendrasinh Parmar, had served in the army for 15 years before retiring to become a contractor for the GEB.
Sources said Parmar left his office, Parth Earth Movers, located in Sil Complex, Mithakali, and came down to the road. He was about to get into his Scorpio four-wheeler when 4-5 criminals fired at him. Parmar, who was shot in the head, died on the spot.
Parmar, a resident of Chandrapuri society, Vastrapur, is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Parmar was carrying a pistol with him when he was shot dead. He had placed his pistol on the rear seat of his Scorpio vehicle and was about to get into the vehicle when the criminals fired at him.
Sources said that dispute over money is suspected to be the cause of the murder. Parmar had recently received a contract at Vadakbori where there is a thermal power station, and had made this fact known to his staff on Tuesday.
The Navranpura police and crime branch officers, including DCP Abhay Chudasma, arrived at the spot as soon as they learnt of the incident, and cordoned off the entire area. The police are investigating the murder from various angles. ACP (A) Div, ND Parmar, said that, prima facie, it appeared that some dispute over money was the reason for the murder.
