M&M’s two-wheeler business on track
After the M&M Group took charge of the bleeding Kinetic Motors in 2008, it was expected that the company will be able to make a cushy position for itself in the long-run in the Indian two-wheelers market and the Two-wheeler arm has so far outshined the expectation of the company.
With better-than-expected sales of around 70,008 units in the last fiscal against 5,552 units sold by Kinetic Motor in the previous year, the two-wheeler arm is truly a remarkable story for the tractor maker in the Indian market.
In fact, with the sales growing and the consumer sentiment improving by the day, M&M upcoming products for the Indian consumer will give the consumer more than he can expect out of the company.
However, the company has so far not entered into the motorcycle segment in the domestic market, a segment where M&M showed a lot of interest at the time of announcing the takeover of the assets of Kinetic Motors.
Notably, Sulajja Motwani on the other hand has been working on a plan to launch consumer durables under the Kinetic brand name as it is believed that the brand is widely popular and accepted by the Indian consumer.
