Microsoft to offer IE10 with touch-friendly Metro interfaceSoftware giant, Microsoft is planning to offer its Internet Explorer 10 Web browser with several new features including its touch-friendly Metro interface.

The Internet Explorer 10 will come with the same "Metro" design aesthetic that can also be seen on the company's other product offerings like Windows 8 and even the revamped Xbox dashboard. The new browser will also come with enhanced security, according to a new corporate blog posting.

The new feature is designed for both touch as well as the keyboard-and-mouse input. Experts say that the company has joined the trend mostly started of Google Chrome in which the browser shows less and less of interface allowing the focus to be on web content instead.

Microsoft is planning to offer the new browser on tablets and convertible form-factors as well as PCs and thus it comes with various features suited for these devices. The company had said on 13 March on the "Building Windows 8" blog that the browser will support gestures including `stick-to-your-finger responsiveness of the touch support for panning and zooming, swiping back and forward for page navigation, and double tapping to zoom in and out of content.'

The browser will also come with navigation tiles, Metro-style "tab switcher" and a navigation bar with auto-complete and other features. It will also be able to take advantage of the Windows "snap" feature allowing users to run two apps together.
